One of the highlights is the promenade that stretches for kilometers in both directions – perfect for morning walks or a coffee with a sea view.
Torrenueva Park – live in the heart of La Cala de Mijas with golf around the corner. From Torrenueva Park you are close to some of the Costa del Sol’s most accessible and popular golf courses – all within a 5-15 minute drive. Mijas Golf is a well-known golf complex with two 18-hole courses, Los Lagos and Los Olivos, both designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. Here you play on generous fairways with a focus on variety and quality. El Chaparral Golf is unique in the area as an 18-hole course with six par-3s, six par-4s and six par-5s – a challenging and scenic course that winds through pine forests.
Cabopino Golf is a charming and hilly course with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. Suitable for both the intermediate golfer and the more experienced player who enjoys a technical challenge. Cerrado del Águila Golf is a shorter but modern 9-hole course in very good condition – perfect for a relaxed round in beautiful surroundings, with the option to play 18 holes in two rounds.
La Cala is not only a pleasant coastal resort with beachside walks, golf courses and a wide range of restaurants – it is also the perfect base for discovering more of what Andalusia has to offer. With its location between Málaga and Marbella, you are close to both culture, nature and history. In just 30 minutes you can reach Málaga, a city that manages to combine beach life with the pulse of the big city. Here you can stroll along the modern Muelle Uno harbour promenade, take in the art at the Picasso Museum or sit down with a tapa in one of the many bars in the old town. Just 15 minutes inland is the picturesque white village of Mijas Pueblo, where narrow cobbled streets, flower-bedecked houses and fantastic views of the coast offer a very special charm. Here it is easy to let the hours pass by among small shops and local cafes. If you want to take a slightly longer day trip, Ronda is a spectacular alternative. The historic town is located high up with its dramatic gorge and the iconic El Tajo bridge that divides the city in two. The road there is beautiful in itself, and once there, history, beautiful architecture and views that you will not soon forget await.
From Malaga airport it only takes about 25 minutes by car to Torrenueva Park. The fast and well-signposted A-7 coastal road makes it easy to get there, whether you are going into Marbella for a day trip or to the flight home.
Torrenueva Park and La Cala de Mijas are a comfortable, affordable and pleasant alternative – whether you stay for two weeks or two months. Here, coastal life, golf, good food and a relaxed Andalusian atmosphere are combined in the best way.
