Frequently Asked Questions

No, when traveling with PT Golf, you buy your plane tickets yourself. Note that our arrival and departure dates are flexible – no fixed ’change days’ – whereby you can freely plan your trip for the best route, flight times and price.

We recommend the various search sites available for flight booking, for example Google Flights or Skyscanner. These search among all airlines and you enter, for example, From London … To Faro.

PORTUGAL

For travel to the Algarve, we recommend flights to Faro . After collecting your rental car, you can reach all our accommodations in a maximum of one hour.

If you are going to Lisbon/Estoril/Silver Coast, the easiest way is to fly to Lisbon .

SPAIN

For travel to the Costa de la Luz, we recommend flights to Faro. The drive to our accommodation takes between 1 and 1½ hours. Driving time to Punta Umbria and El Rompido is about the same from Faro and Seville , about 1½ hours.

When visiting  the Novo Sancti Petri area, the easiest way to travel is to Seville (driving time approx. 1½ hours) or Málaga (driving time 2½ hours).

When traveling to the Costa del Sol, you fly to Málaga , from where it is approximately 1 hour’s drive to our accommodation.

For visits to the Murcia area,  fly to Alicante airport.

Transport of golf equipment.

For all departures from and including May 1, 2018, airlines require that the transport of special equipment, such as golf equipment, must be requested and approved in advance.
As the plane’s baggage capacity is limited, transport of special baggage always takes place subject to available space. Therefore, we recommend that you request the transport of special luggage in connection with the booking or as early as possible.

ATTENTION! Especially with SAS, many of our Guests have experienced problems with booking and getting their golf equipment confirmed on the flight. Be extra careful to get confirmation that your golf equipment is booked with you both out and home.

We want to book a trip with PT Golf, how do we do it?

Start by looking around here on our website. There you will find descriptions of our various destinations, our golf packages, rental car and of course prices. You are always welcome to email or call us to ask questions and/or brainstorm ideas for your upcoming trip. By filling in and sending in an expression of interest, you are sure to receive a quote emailed to you as soon as possible.

Length of stay, length of trip, arrival/departure…

PT Golf offers ready-made packages for Longstay (30 days) and Shortstay (14 days) . Dates and days of the week for arrival and departure are flexible and you can plan this freely with regard to flight times etc. We therefore – unlike many tour operators – do not have special so-called ”change days” when arrival and departure must take place.

Extra days , in addition to the 14 and 30 days in the packages, can be added so that the length of the trip is exactly as you want it. An extra cost per day is added for accommodation and rental car. The cost for the respective accommodation and car type is shown in the offer, but is normally €75 for the accommodation and €20 for the car (exactly what concerns the desired/booked accommodation and car type respectively is shown in the offer).

Check-in usually takes place at 16:00 on the day of arrival, and check-out is done no later than 10:00 on the day of departure.

What is included in PT Golf’s trips/prices?

Everything that is included in your trip is clearly stated in your quote. Accommodation and golf are always included, while a rental car is an option for long stays. In our short stay packages, a rental car is always included. Please note that air travel is never included , but for maximum freedom and best planning, we leave the flight booking to you.

Can we book the same apartment as the last time we traveled with PT Golf?

For guests who have requests for a specific apartment, PT Golf cannot guarantee availability due to details such as previous booking, maintenance works, private apartment owners’ planning, etc. Requests for a certain location  (e.g. sea view, afternoon sun, etc.) we try to accommodate these as far as possible, but cannot guarantee this.

Are electricity, gas and water included in the cost?

Costs for electricity, gas and water are included in the vast majority of packages. Exceptions occur, but are clearly indicated in the quotation.

We want to book sea view and evening sun, can you promise and confirm that?

No, unfortunately we cannot. We invite all our Guests to indicate their wishes for a specific location, apartment, etc. in their registration of interest – but we cannot guarantee this in a quote or booking. What we can book and guarantee is the type of apartment according to our website, i.e. one or two bedrooms, roof terrace, etc. Other wishes are just wishes, which we always promise to do our best to accommodate.

In all of our Weekly and Shortstay trips, the rental car is included in the price.

Of course, our Longstay guests can also book a rental car at a very favorable price. Our rental car partners are located at the airports in Faro, Lisbon and Málaga and ensure quick and smooth delivery of the rental car directly upon arrival.

For trips to Portugal, the rental car can be picked up at Faro or Lisbon airport. If collection and return at different airports, so-called ”one-way”, is desired, an additional cost is added. Full insurance is included in the car rental, while deductible elimination (so-called ”SCDW”) can be purchased at a very favorable price.

When traveling to Spain, the rental car is picked up at Málaga airport for those of you who are going to the Costa del Sol. Full insurance is included in the rental cost. For trips to Murcia, you pick up your rental car at the airport in Alicante. Full insurance and excess risk elimination are included in the rental cost.

When booking a rental car with PT Golf, you have your rental car included in the quote and thus know exactly what it will cost. So you don’t have to stand at the car drop-off and listen to long and incomprehensible explanations about the various extra insurances and add-ons you ”must” take out. Furthermore, two drivers are included, unlimited mileage and there are no age supplements. Before the trip, our Guests can fill in their ’fast track’ details, whereby the contract is pre-filled on arrival and ”you’re good to go”, as Ingemar Stenmark would have said.

When do we pay for the trip?
You confirm and reserve your trip according to the quote by paying the registration fee of 15% of the total price of the trip within 10 days. Final payment is made no later than 60 days before arrival. A reminder of final payment is sent to all booked Guests shortly before the due date.

How do we pay for the trip?
Payment is made by depositing into PT Golf’s account, according to the information and instructions in the quote.

Can you pay by credit card?
Yes, we accept card payment via PayPal and Wise. If you wish to pay with PayPal, contact PT Golf and we will send over the invoice and payment instructions via e-mail.

The trip is booked, what happens now?

1) As soon as we receive the registration fee, we send a payment/ booking confirmation via email.

2) Shortly afterwards, you will receive an email with login details for the My Trip page . On the page, you can fill in your flight details, pre-book carriage hire and other practical things before the trip.

3) 60 days before arrival is the time for final payment of the trip. A reminder is sent out via email.

4) 30 days before arrival, you will receive your Welcome Letter from your Golf host with detailed information for your arrival and stay.

5) approximately 60 days before arrival, you will receive an invitation via email to the Guest Portal where you will find information, activity programs, competition calendars and can pre-book start times already from home.

We are several couples/families who want to travel together, how do we do it?
Make a registration of interest per couple/family, but indicate in the free text field which friends you are traveling with and wish to live nearby, and we promise to do our utmost to accommodate this.

We would like to receive visitors during our stay.
The basic price in PT Golf’s quotations is based on two people occupying the apartment. Extra guest/s staying in your apartment is allowed for a shorter period (up to 7 days) for a cost supplement per guest per day. This is to cover additional costs such as e.g. cleaning, changes, laundry, etc. in accordance with PT Golf’s commitments towards the suppliers. Costs for any rounds of golf for extra guests are added.

Guest portal

All our guests receive login details for our Guest Portal approximately 60 days before arrival. Here you can find all kinds of information about your stay, activity and competition programs, etc. In the Guest Portal, it is possible to book the starting times that PT Golf has reserved for our Guests as well as competition registration.

Golf friends

In our Guest Portal, you are automatically a Golf Friend with your fellow traveller. You are also golf friends with the friends you/you informed us that you are traveling with when booking. In addition, you can add additional golf friends if you have acquaintances traveling with PT Golf during the same time period. 

Which golf package should we choose?

With PT Golf, you choose golf packages with everything from 5/10/15/20 rounds of any game on the market’s widest selection of courses to unlimited/free play. Our website shows which golf packages are available in our various areas/accommodations. Eight weeks before arrival, you get access to our unique Guest Portal where you can book tee times and sign up for our popular golf competitions.

How do we register for golf competitions?

Our guests also have the opportunity to pre-register for our golf competitions from home through our guest portal , which can be reached via a link on PT Golf’s website. This can be done from 60 days before arrival when the invitation with login instructions is sent out.

Can we rent a golf cart?

PT Golf has its own golf trolleys as well as electric trolleys that can be rented throughout your stay in most of our areas.

All of our golf trolleys are modern, light and compact – two folded together will fit together with the golf bags in a smaller car (type example Renault Clio, Ford Fiesta, etc).

Can we watch TV and play services?

Digital payment services in areas such as film and television, music, audiobooks and computer games will accompany you on the EU journey, as the EU Commission has removed the previous geoblocking. This applies to most play services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, CanalDigital, which have a play service with an app, with which you can watch your programs even while travelling.

However, free services are not affected by these new rules, which is why not all programs can be seen during the trip. This applies above all to programs for which the channel has geographically limited rights, mainly sporting events, certain films and series, etc.

All PT Golf’s guests have free Wi-Fi in their apartments. Fiber is now available in most locations and residences, but deviations may occur.

As a guest of PT Golf in Eastern Algarve and Western Spain, you need to download our app, which you can find in the Appstore and Google Play – search for ”PT Golf”. Here, your vouchers for games will be available well in advance of your trip with us. Here you also find useful information about all our courses, you have the option to book tee times there, as in the Guest Portal, and you have contact information for your golf host and the head office.

From mid-December to the end of January we generally have low season. The golf is still nice and the courses are open but we have no or very few pre-booked tee times, no competitions and usually no golf hosts on site. Playing golf is fine – you book yourself directly with the golf courses and times are available.

Easter is a big holiday in Portugal and often an Easter supplement is added to the accommodation which we cannot influence. If it is, we will inform you of this on the quote, as the price will differ from what is stated on the website.
