Feel the history at this luxurious five-star hotel!

Hotel Palacio was built in 1930 and over the years has been continuously renovated and renewed into a modern luxury hotel. The Palacio has historically been a favourite of royalty, movie stars and spies and it is here, it is said, that Ian Fleming created James Bond. And this is where the Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was filmed.

The Palacio is very centrally located in Estoril, this classic and fashionable suburb of Lisbon. It is only 300 meters to the fine sandy beach with its promenade that stretches all the way from Estoril to Cascais. 300 meters in the other direction is Estoril Casino – Europe’s largest and within walking distance you have several of Estoril’s better restaurants that serve excellent fish and meat dishes.

At Palacio you live in real luxury in magnificent rooms and the day starts in style with Palacio’s grand breakfast buffet in the classic dining room with a view of the hotel’s pool and garden. Palacio’s well-known SPA department – ​​Banyana Tree – with massage pools, flowing swimming pool, relaxation area, sauna, etc. is at our guests’ disposal. Shuttle bus to Estoril Golf Club runs every day of the week (takes approx. 5 minutes).

And, just five minutes from the hotel, the coastal local train goes into amazing Lisbon with its history, its cultural scene and all the museums, restaurants and experiences. The train journey takes about 40 minutes.

There is simply no better accommodation in Estoril. With its great classic elegance, famous breakfast buffet and free transfer to Estoril Golf, this is a stay out of the ordinary. On arrival at the Palacio, an appreciated welcome drink is also served.

As standard, double rooms are oriented towards the entrance/parking lot. Upgrades can be made to Superior (with garden view, lower floor) and Superior Deluxe (higher up towards the garden and with sea view).

Estoril GC, or Clube de Golfe do Estoril as it is actually called, is one of Portugal’s oldest clubs. The course was laid out in 1929 and the club was one of the original members of the Portuguese Golf Association when it was founded in 1949. The clubhouse is an experience out of the ordinary – here you can feel the wings of history in the well-preserved, classic atmosphere framed by teak, the silvery prize collection, classic leather furniture and game tables in green felt. The dining on the 19th hole has a delicious menu, outdoor seating overlooking the 18th green and pool.

The outdoor pool is heated from May to October.

A special tourist tax of €2 per person per night is mandatory in Estoril/Cascais. The maximum cost is €14 per person, which is paid at the hotel reception.
