High-class accommodation a stone’s throw from the mile-long beach!
About 400 meters from Cavalo Preto, there is a very nice 2 kilometer promenade all the way into the cozy center of Quarteira. And if you’re really in the mood for a walk, you can stroll along the water’s edge all the way to the marina in Vilamoura.
The apartments at Cavalo Preto – which means the Black Horse – have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and are fully equipped for self-catering and a pleasant longstay stay. In addition, there are a limited number of apartments with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. All apartments have Wi-Fi internet, international TV channels and a balcony. There is a very nice outdoor swimming pool at the facility and a garage is under the building with a lift.
Quarteira is a very pleasant small town with a genuine and lively folk life all year round. At the fish market you will find everything the sea has to offer – just take it home cleaned and ready for cooking. Or, stroll around and find your favorite among all the city’s small local restaurants which serve the dish of the day as well as different menus in the evenings at attractive prices.
Cavalo Preto is ideally located close to everything. Quarteira is around the corner, Vilamora just a couple of kilometers to the west and our golf courses in the area are a maximum of 20 minutes’ drive. You quickly get onto the Via de Infante (A22) motorway for excursions along the breathtaking Algarve coast.
We have a range of golf packages and combinations in the Central Algarve based mainly on the highly rated courses Vila Sol in Vilamoura (drive time approx. 10 min) and Pinheiros Altos in Quinta do Lago (15 min). In addition to these courses, you can buy or upgrade to rounds (always in packs of five) at Quinta do Lago (Laranjal, North & South) and Dom Pedro (Old Course, Millenium, Pinhal & Laguna*) at good prices. All courses are within a 20 minute drive from Lakeside.
Time booking for your own game at is done via email, phone and/or visit to the courses/clubs and, in the case of Vila Sol and Pestana, also in the Guest Portal where pre-booked times are earmarked for PT Golf’s Guests. Our competitions in the area are played at Vila Sol in Vilamoura and registration to the competition is done in the Guest Portal. In the Guest Portal, 10 rounds (own game and competitions) can be booked from home, while the rest can be booked on site in the Algarve according to the ’play one, book one’ principle. The time booking in the Guest Portal is common to all our Guests in the Central Algarve, which provides variety and games together with both new and old friends.

The golf competitions in the Central Algarve are played at Vila Sol and Pinheiros Altos. In the Guest Portal, there are start times for Vila Sol and Pinheiros Altos, for other courses in the Central Algarve, pre-booked times (”clip cards”) apply.
Dom Pedro
You receive 5 pre-booked golf rounds/start times within a 10-day period. Rebooking to another track is not possible. If you do not come to play according to the pre-booked start times, a so-called no show is issued and the round is lost. If the course is unplayable due to rain, a rain voucher is obtained on site.
Exchange of 5 rounds of Vila Sol for 5 Pinheiros Altos (or vice versa) can be done free of charge.
